Starting April, Export of Face Shield 'BiShield' to the US Begins
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Espolitec, the leading company in the domestic market share of engineering plastics, announced on the 17th that it installed the COVID-19 blocking partition ‘Bipens’ in the National Assembly.
Espolitec has completed the installation of Bipens on 450 tables across 8 restaurants within the National Assembly. Bipens is a virus-blocking partition made of polycarbonate material and is planned to be additionally installed in coffee shops and stores within the National Assembly in the future. Currently, Bipens installations are expanding in virus-vulnerable areas such as public institutions including Daejeon City Hall, schools, kindergartens, and offices.
Since April, Espolitec has started exporting the virus face shield ‘BiShield’ to the United States. As a leader in the virus infection prevention protective products market, including Bipens and BiShield, the company plans to expand its overseas market to Europe following the U.S.
An Espolitec official said, “With the increased interest in personal hygiene protection due to COVID-19, our company’s virus blocking technology has been recognized, leading to exports to the U.S. and installation in the National Assembly.” He added, “Starting with the sales of personal hygiene-related products, a rapidly growing market, we will actively pursue new markets in the plastics business division.”
Founded in 1999, Espolitec is the number one company in the domestic market share of engineering plastics, engaged in the engineering plastics business as well as optical sheets and films such as LCD and LED light guide plates. Engineering plastics are high-performance plastics that can replace metals and are used across industries including automotive, while light guide plates are key components of backlights that supply light and have recently been installed in 8K QLED TVs.
