New Zealand Declares End of COVID-19, Reports 2 New COVID-19 Cases
[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] New Zealand announced on the 16th that 2 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed. Having declared no COVID-19 cases within the country and lifted lockdown measures, New Zealand now faces a new situation.
The New Zealand government announced that the new COVID-19 cases were imported from overseas. They arrived from the United Kingdom on the 7th and stayed in a quarantine facility in New Zealand. The new cases, known to be women in their 30s and 40s, reportedly entered the country to visit their parents who are in poor health.
Earlier, New Zealand lifted all lockdown measures except border controls after maintaining zero domestic COVID-19 cases (including new cases) last week.
