Geonsanyeon Hosts Seminar on 'Housing Markets and Policies in Global Cities'
Geonsanyeon and Housing Society Joint Seminar to be Held Online on the 23rd from 2 PM to 6 PM
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] The Korea Research Institute for Construction Industry will jointly hold an online seminar titled 'Global Urban Housing Markets and Policies' with the Korea Housing Association at 2 p.m. on the 23rd.
In many countries including Korea, rapid increases in urban housing prices have caused various social problems. With the likelihood of a continued low interest rate environment, it is difficult to easily predict future stabilization. Through this seminar, the Korea Research Institute for Construction Industry aims to review the housing market situations and policy responses of various countries and provide implications.
The presentations will be divided into two sessions: 'Europe and North America' and 'Asia and the Pacific,' examining housing markets and policy responses in each region. Research Fellow Yoon-kyung Heo from the institute will present on Germany, Associate Researchers Tae-hee Lee and Seong-hwan Kim on the UK, and Professor Jun-hyung Kim from Myongji University on the US market. Following this, Professor Jin-yu Kim from Kyonggi University and PhD candidate Ho-jun Lee from the University of New South Wales in Australia, Researcher Sun-young Kim from Tokyo City University in Japan, and Professor Kwan-ok Lee from the National University of Singapore will continue with presentations on the Australian, Japanese, and Singaporean markets, respectively.
After the presentations, a comprehensive discussion will be held moderated by Professor Kyung-hwan Kim from Sogang University. Participants in the discussion include Research Fellow Won-seok Nam from the Seoul Institute, Professor Seung-han Noh from Konkuk University, Senior Research Fellow Mi-yoon Jin from LH Land and Housing Institute, and Investigator Kyung-seok Jang from the National Assembly Legislative Research Office.
