On the 16th, Eom Aeng-ran and Dr. Song Soo-sik appeared on the Tuesday Guest segment of KBS1's 'Morning Yard.'
During the broadcast, Dr. Song said about the couple Eom Aeng-ran and Shin Sung-il, "Teacher Eom's love for her husband was extraordinary. I feel sorry for the late Mr. Shin, but when I asked if he was troubled by making movies because he was running for the National Assembly, he told me not to say that," adding, "He said his heart still races when he thinks about the old days."
Eom Aeng-ran said, "After sending Shin Sung-il off, I stayed at home. That's how it felt after losing my husband. Women show their bad feelings on their faces," and added, "I didn't want to show that appearance, so I didn't appear on broadcasts."
In response, Dr. Song said, "This is the first time I have seen Eom Aeng-ran in person since the funeral. She is the same as ever. She hasn't aged or gotten older. She is rough and swears well," and added, "I worked with Eom Aeng-ran on broadcasts for 10 years, and her love for her husband was extraordinary."
Eom Aeng-ran confessed, "I feel the emptiness left by my husband. I feel it as I organize things one by one. Even if I get jealous, he was a national man. I think I was too greedy. So it’s my fault. I don’t resent him. If I tried to claim the national man for myself, that was an impossible greed."
She continued, "Still, when we got married, it was good, and I thought he was my man. But as time passed, flies like that gathered around him. They were flies that even medicine couldn’t get rid of," and recalled, "When I was battling cancer, Shin Sung-il worried a lot. I heard he asked Dr. Song Soo-sik a lot too."
She added, "He told us to take care of our health, so why did he go first? I feel unfair about that. He went before me, who doesn’t exercise and just watches TV every day," expressing her sorrow.
