[Asia Economy Beijing=Special Correspondent Park Sun-mi] Amid a cluster infection of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) at Beijing's largest agricultural and aquatic products wholesale market, the number of confirmed cases in Beijing has exceeded 100 in five days.
On the 16th, the National Health Commission of China announced that as of midnight, 40 new confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported nationwide. Excluding 8 cases imported from overseas, 32 cases were domestically transmitted.
In Beijing, where the entire community is in a 'wartime state' fighting the risk of cluster infections, 27 new confirmed cases were added. Additional confirmed cases were reported in Hebei Province (4 cases) and Sichuan Province (1 case).
