Gwangju Seo-gu Dementia Safety Center Holds Dementia Overcoming Leading Organization Agreement Ceremony

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Seo-gu Dementia Safety Center in Gwangju Metropolitan City recently designated Hwajeong 1-dong Saemaeul Library (Chairman Kim Okja) as a dementia overcoming leading organization and announced on the 15th that they signed a business agreement.
The dementia overcoming leading organization designation project is a program that helps create a dementia-friendly environment by involving local residents as key participants in the community, enabling elderly dementia patients and their families to live with peace of mind.
Members designated as dementia overcoming leading organizations receive dementia partner training and participate in dementia overcoming activities through the organization's infrastructure and talent donation, including practicing dementia prevention and management methods, promoting dementia awareness improvement, and understanding dementia patients and their families.
At the agreement ceremony, all members of Hwajeong 1-dong Saemaeul Library agreed to participate as dementia partners.
Hwajeong 1-dong Saemaeul Library plans to operate dementia prevention classes targeting elderly residents at local senior centers to help them prepare for a healthy and dementia-free old age.
Seo Daeseok, the head of Seo-gu Office, said, “We will continue to nurture dementia overcoming leading organizations and dementia partners to discover community resources and establish a linkage system. Together with the leading organizations, we will strive to improve dementia awareness among local residents and create a dementia-friendly environment.”
