Gokseong-gun Selected for 'Hanbok Culture Revitalization' Support Project Competition
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 15th that it has been selected for the integrated public contest for the Hanbok Culture Activation Support Project under the theme "服GO福, Simcheong Hwanghu! Return to the Train Village" (hereinafter referred to as the 'Hanbok Activation Project').
The Hanbok Activation Project is hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Craft & Design Foundation to spread distinctive hanbok culture centered on local regions. It supports projects that create an environment to enjoy hanbok culture and discover and expand the diverse values of hanbok.
Gokseong-gun was selected with the project titled "Simcheong Hwanghu! Return to the Train Village" and will receive 70 million KRW in national funding out of a total project cost of 140 million KRW. Going forward, as a regional hub project for hanbok culture, it will operate a small but certain happiness hanbok world through hanbok upcycling and exhibitions, and a hanbok academy with stories.
In addition, during the Simcheong Festival scheduled for October this year, various experience and exhibition programs such as "Simcheong Hwanghu! Rebirth Reenactment" and Hanbok 美路 will be operated.
Furthermore, policies to promote hanbok wearing and cultural programs linked with local tourist attractions and accommodation facilities are also being prepared.
