Kaesong Industrial Complex Tenants "Stop Distributing Anti-North Korea Leaflets"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] Companies operating in the Kaesong Industrial Complex held a press conference in front of the Government Seoul Office Building on the 15th, urging the cessation of leaflet distribution to North Korea.
The Kaesong Industrial Complex Emergency Measures Committee, the Geumgangsan Business Association, and inland investment and trade companies held an urgent press conference titled "Ban on Leaflet Distribution to North Korea and Urgent Call for Ratification of the Four Joint Declarations" in front of the main gate of the Government Seoul Office Building in Gwanghwamun. They demanded, "Immediately stop the distribution of leaflets to North Korea that endangers peace on the Korean Peninsula and undermines inter-Korean cooperation such as the Kaesong Industrial Complex."
These organizations strongly condemned "the leaflet distribution by a very small number of defector groups," emphasizing, "The National Assembly must immediately enact a law banning leaflet distribution to North Korea, and the government should stop worrying about the United States and promptly implement the Four Joint Declarations: the June 15 Joint Declaration, the October 4 Joint Declaration, the April 27 Panmunjom Declaration, and the September 19 Pyongyang Joint Declaration."
They further stated, "The April 27 and September 19 Joint Declarations prohibit all acts that create tension along the Military Demarcation Line, and the fact that some defector groups were able to engage in such deviant behavior occurred because the government failed to perform its proper duties."
