Jeonnam Culture and Tourism Foundation 'Culture and Arts Support Project' 2nd Call for Proposals

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Jeonnam Culture and Tourism Foundation announced on the 14th that it will conduct the second round of the cultural arts support project until the 16th to revitalize the arts activities in the Jeonnam region, which have been stagnant due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.

Through this project, small amounts will be provided in multiple cases so that many regional artists who are struggling due to COVID-19 can benefit from individual creative activities. Considering the difficult situation, the project will be conducted earlier than originally planned.

The application fields include five areas: traditional arts, visual arts, performing arts, literature, and cultural arts research.

The total support scale is 300 million KRW, with individual or groups receiving a minimum of 3 million KRW and a maximum of 10 million KRW.

Eligibility requirements allow any artists or cultural arts organizations active in the province to apply, and applications can only be submitted online through the National Culture and Arts Support System (NCAS).

In addition, the Jeonnam Culture and Tourism Foundation secured 300 million KRW in national funds from the Korea Arts & Culture Education Service to support the local performing arts sector struggling due to COVID-19.

They plan to launch a public contest project within this month to support online performance activities such as internet performances and non-audience video production, performing arts group capacity-building programs, and various performing arts creative preparation activities.

Joo Soon-seon, CEO of the Jeonnam Culture and Tourism Foundation, said, “We hope that this contest will help revitalize the local arts activities that have been stagnant due to COVID-19,” and added, “We ask Jeonnam artists and cultural arts organizations to actively participate.”
