On the 12th, SBS PowerFM's 'Jang Ye-won's Cinetown' aired the 'Cinema Invitation' segment, featuring Lee Joo-young as a guest.
Lee Joo-young described the character 'Joo Su-in' she portrayed as "a girl who has devoted her life to baseball. People around her worry and suggest, 'Why not take an easier path?' but Su-in is a character who never gives up her determination." She added, "In the end, I think Su-in gives energy to those around her."
She said, "In the film, I throw the ball at 134 km/h. I wasn't sure how fast that really was. I actually measured my pitching speed, and it was not easy to exceed 60-70 km/h." She continued, "I think I prepared for about 3 to 4 hours a day. There wasn’t much time. The training period was about a month. On days I could go, I trained for 3 to 4 hours every day."
Regarding actress Yum Hye-ran, who played her mother in the movie, she said, "I really like her."
She shared, "Even just watching the script reading made me cry. I didn’t expect it, but the senior read calmly, and before I knew it, I was crying." She expressed gratitude, saying, "She contacts me when she wins awards. Even though I’m a junior, I felt she wanted to take care of me first."
Lee Joo-young selected "Even if slow, you can win" as a memorable line from the movie, explaining, "It’s one of the things Su-in says." She added, "While dreaming of becoming a professional, she faces many real-life obstacles, but she tells herself it’s okay to go slowly." She said, "People around her discourage her, but the line encapsulates the feeling that it’s okay to follow the path you want to take."
She continued, "I thought viewers of this movie might see Su-in as a delicate and vulnerable child but feel like she is a small hero." She added, "Rather than feeling 'I’m similar to Su-in,' I thought Su-in is truly amazing and someone I want to resemble."
