Gyeongnam Province Holds Briefing Session on Smart Farm Youth Startup Incubation Program
Introduction to Childcare Curriculum, Post-Completion Benefits, and Successful Smart Farm Startup Cases
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Choi Hyun-joo] Gyeongnam Province announced on the 12th that it held an on-site briefing session for the Smart Farm Youth Startup Incubation Center, which will lead the future of Gyeongnam agriculture, at the Miryang City Agricultural Technology Center.
About 100 people, including young farmers hoping to start smart farm businesses, attended the briefing session. Institutions overseeing the Smart Farm Youth Startup Incubation Center and managing the project, such as the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Korea Agency of Education, Promotion and Information Service in Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, also participated.
The briefing session included an introduction to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs’ project, covering the necessity of promoting smart farms, the incubation process, benefits after course completion, and excellent smart farm startup cases. It also provided guidance on the incubation courses and items to be promoted by Gyeongnam Province, detailed plans for each incubation stage, and a Q&A session with prospective entrepreneurs.
Additionally, the Youth Startup Incubation Center course plans to select a total of 52 participants and provide education over 20 months, consisting of introductory education, educational practice, and management practice courses.
Eligibility is open to youth aged 18 or older and under 40, regardless of major. Those interested can apply online through Smart Farm Korea by the 3rd of next month. Furthermore, 13 top-performing participants will receive rental-type smart farms for three years, offering special incentives to gain independent farming experience and secure startup funds.

Jung Jae-min, Director of the Agricultural Policy Bureau of Gyeongnam Province, stated, “Our rural areas in Gyeongnam need new vitality in agriculture due to limited farmland and aging population,” and added, “I hope many young people will take an interest in smart farms.”
