Gwangju Bank Selected as the 60th Branch of the 'Hope Blooms Study Room'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Bank (President Song Jong-wook) announced on the 10th that it held the 60th selection ceremony for the ‘Hope Blossoms Study Room’ at ‘Balgeun Group Home’ in Gyelim-dong, Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City.
The ‘Balgeun Group Home,’ selected as the ‘Hope Blossoms Study Room’ this time, is a communal living facility that protects local children in need due to economic poverty, parental divorce, domestic violence, and other reasons, helping them grow into healthy members of society.
‘Balgeun Group Home,’ where six children live, faced many difficulties due to a lack of desks and bookshelves and an outdated learning environment. Accordingly, Gwangju Bank replaced desks, bookshelves, wallpaper, and flooring to create a comfortable study environment.
Employees of the Gwangju Bank Community Love Volunteer Group shared snacks they prepared with the children at the newly renovated group home and encouraged them to nurture their dreams.
Ko Byung-il, Vice President of Gwangju Bank, said, “I hope local children can healthily nurture their dreams in the newly decorated study room,” and added, “We will continue to support the ‘Hope Blossoms Study Room’ for children in our region and lead various social contribution activities to give back the love we have received from the community.”
Meanwhile, Gwangju Bank supports local children and youth in various ways to discover and nurture local talent. It continuously selects ‘Hope Blossoms Study Rooms’ and ‘Hope Blossoms Dream Trees’ to support children in difficult environments to pursue their dreams, and annually provides school uniforms to middle and high school freshmen recommended by the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation at the start of each school year.
