Muan-gun O Seung-woo Art Museum to Operate Online Art Experience Program in June
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] The Muan-gun Oh Seung-woo Art Museum announced on the 10th that it has selected "Making Worry Dolls" as the online art experience program for June and will accept applications starting from the 11th.
The online art experience program has been operating since April, providing experience materials via delivery and drive-thru methods for children who spend a lot of time indoors due to COVID-19, allowing them to watch online lectures and participate in the experience at home.
The "Worry Dolls" in the June program titled "Leave Your Worries to Me, Making Worry Dolls" are dolls that have been passed down from the Guatemala region for a long time. It is believed that when children cannot sleep due to worries or fears, if parents give them a worry doll and tell their worries to the doll, the doll takes away the worries, bringing comfort.
In fact, they are also used in hospitals or child counseling centers for children's sleep disorders or psychological treatment purposes.
A Muan-gun official said, "We judged that face-to-face education programs are still difficult due to social distancing in daily life, so we decided to proceed with the online program in June as well," adding, "In a situation where not only parents but also children are increasingly worried due to COVID-19, we hope they can have time to heal their minds by making worry dolls."
Applications for the June program will be accepted from 2 p.m. on the 11th through the Muan-gun Oh Seung-woo Art Museum website (pre-registration limited to 400 people). The online video will be posted on the 12th on YouTube (search for Muan-gun Oh Seung-woo Art Museum), and experience materials can be picked up at the museum starting Friday the 13th via drive-thru.
