Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Conducts '5th Village Planner Training Program'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Samho) announced on the 9th that it has started the ‘5th Gwangsan-gu Village Planner Training Course’ at the Gwangsan-gu Public Interest Activity Support Center.
Village planners have established themselves as the epitome of Gwangsan village activists who carry out village community movements based on cooperation and trust.
Currently, 26 residents interested in village activities are participating in the training.
They will receive lectures and workshops aimed at forming village activist networks, finding identity and vision, understanding village communities and village making, various village living cases, and cultivating humanistic sensitivity until the 25th.
Graduates of the training will support various village community activities such as village resource investigation and discovery, and monitoring village community projects, and will work as facilitators and assistant coordinators in village workshops and village schools.
Since 2015 until last year, Gwangsan-gu has nurtured 86 village planners, and plans to support the graduates of this training to grow as activists leading village community activities.

Kim Samho, Mayor of Gwangsan-gu, said, “The role of village activists is important in creating a happy Gwangsan community where my life is happy,” and added, “We will continue professional and systematic training and support to improve the quality of life of village activists and sustainable activities.”
