Haenam-gun Selected as an Excellent Institution for Food Safety Management for 5 Consecutive Years
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Myeong Hyun-gwan) announced on the 9th that it was selected as an excellent institution for five consecutive years in the 2020 Food Safety Management Evaluation hosted by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.
The Food Safety Management Evaluation is conducted annually on 17 cities and provinces and 228 cities, counties, and districts, comprehensively assessing 13 indicators across four areas: food safety management infrastructure, basic hygiene management, major government policies, and additional points.
In particular, Haenam-gun received excellent evaluations for its efforts in thoroughly ensuring safety, including inspections of food hygiene establishments, detection of violating businesses, strengthening the expertise of food hygiene inspectors for prompt handling of complaints, utilization of on-site reporting equipment, and special management target food sampling inspections.
Haenam-gun has been selected as an excellent local government for five consecutive years since 2016, recognized as an outstanding food safety management institution among local governments nationwide.
