Wave Original 'SF8' Officially Invited to Bucheon Film Festival
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] Online video service (OTT) Wavve announced on the 9th that 'SF8,' directed by 8 film directors with 8 episodes respectively, will hold a special exhibition at the 24th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival. SF8 is a film and drama crossover project produced by Soo Film in collaboration with Wavve, MBC, and the Directors Guild of Korea (DGK).
A total of 8 directors belonging to DGK, including Kim Eui-seok, Noh Deok, Min Kyu-dong, Ahn Guk-jin, Oh Ki-hwan, Lee Yoon-jung, Jang Cheol-soo, and Han Ga-ram, each directed one of the 8 episodes. The works depict various themes such as artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), robots, games, fantasy, horror, superpowers, and disasters in the near future. It will be exclusively pre-released through Wavve on July 10, and will meet viewers through MBC in August.
