Seocho-gu Resumes 'Seoripul Cultural Performances' in Untact Format
Providing Performances via Untact Method through YouTube and Seocho HCN Broadcasting... 'Seoripul Akdong (樂童) Cultural Performance,' which Gained Huge Popularity in 2019 but Was Suspended Due to COVID-19, to Resume 2-4 Shows Monthly from June
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Seocho-gu (Mayor Eunhee Cho) will resume the infant and toddler cultural performance ‘Seoripul Akdong (樂童) Cultural Performance,’ which was canceled due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), starting in June.
The ‘Seoripul Akdong (樂童) Cultural Performance’ held 20 performances in 2019, attracting about 7,500 viewers and gaining tremendous popularity, but this year, the originally planned performances were postponed indefinitely due to COVID-19.
However, the district decided to resume the performances as a measure to alleviate the residents’ difficulties who are feeling depressed and struggling with home childcare due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation. The performances will be held 2 to 4 times a month, satisfying residents’ desire to watch while minimizing the risk of COVID-19 infection.
First, the district will provide pre-recorded videos of the performances at the venue through the ‘Seoripul Akdong Cultural Performance’ YouTube channel and Seocho HCN Broadcasting (Channel 1), so that residents can watch the performances at home without visiting the venue. Based on the experience of holding the ‘Banggu-seok Concert’ three times in April, carefully selected performances suitable for viewing through media will be offered to residents.
From August onward, offline performances held at venues such as Seocho Culture and Arts Center and Banpo Simsang Art Hall will significantly reduce the number of seats and arrange them in a staggered manner to ensure social distancing among the audience for safety. Some performances will also be held on outdoor stages such as the Cultural Arts Park.
