The Samsung legal team added, "We hope that through a strict review process in the upcoming prosecution investigation review procedure, a decision will be made on whether to continue the investigation and proceed with prosecution."
Earlier, Judge Won Jeong-sook of the Seoul Central District Court, who reviewed Vice Chairman Lee's detention, explained the reason for dismissing the arrest warrant, saying, "There is insufficient evidence to justify the necessity and appropriateness of detaining the suspects, which goes against the principle of non-custodial trials." She added, "The basic facts have been established, and it appears that the prosecution has already secured a considerable amount of evidence through its investigation."
