[Official Statement] TWICE Sues Spreader of False Information "Taking the Highest Level of Civil and Criminal Legal Action"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Suwan] JYP Entertainment, the agency of the group TWICE, has taken a strong legal stance against the spread of false information about the group.
On the 8th, JYP Entertainment stated through TWICE’s official fan page, "Recently, there have been continuous cases of baseless false information being written, distributed, and spread about our artists, mainly on certain online communities."
They added, "We have recognized these issues, secured evidence, and filed complaints and lawsuits against the authors and distributors for spreading false information, defamation, and obstruction of business. We plan to continue taking legal action against similar and identical cases."
They emphasized, "The complaints and lawsuits filed currently are not only related to defamation and obstruction of business against the artists but also significantly affect our company. Therefore, we are taking the highest possible civil and criminal legal measures to address the damages caused."

Recently, there have been continuous cases of baseless false information being written, distributed, and spread about our artists, mainly on certain online communities. We have recognized these issues, secured evidence, and filed complaints and lawsuits against the authors and distributors for spreading false information, defamation, and obstruction of business. We would like to inform you that we plan to continue taking legal action against similar and identical cases.

Therefore, we are taking the highest possible civil and criminal legal measures to address the damages caused.
We have repeatedly informed that we will take all available legal measures against indiscriminate slander and baseless false information about our artists. For these matters, we are continuously conducting internal and external monitoring with a professional law firm and filing complaints and lawsuits based on reports from fans on an ongoing basis.
