Nine Residents Including Guro-gu Chinese-Korean Church Shelter Confirmed Positive
8 Confirmed Cases Including Residents of Chinese-Korean Church Shelter and 1 Member of Pioneer Church in Sindorim-dong
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Nine new confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported among residents of the Chinese-Korean church shelter in Guro-gu and others.
On the 8th, after visiting Richway (Buhwadang), a health product retailer in Gwanak-gu, the residence of the 54th confirmed case in Guro-gu, who tested positive the previous day, was confirmed to be the Chinese-Korean church shelter (1307 Nambusunhwan-ro). Consequently, an urgent full-scale specimen test was conducted on 36 people, including residents and church officials, on the afternoon of the previous day, resulting in 8 positive cases.
The district is currently transferring the confirmed patients to isolation hospitals, and those who tested negative are being admitted to temporary quarantine facilities to maintain a two-week self-quarantine.
A list of about 150 church members of the Chinese-Korean church (including shelter residents) has also been secured, and all will undergo specimen testing.
The church was ordered to close the previous day, and disinfection of the shelter and church has been completed.
One additional confirmed case related to the pioneering church has also been reported. The 65th confirmed case in Guro-gu is a contact of the 53rd confirmed case in Guro-gu, who tested positive after a church meeting.
