View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] The funeral of Son Mo (60), the director of 'Peace Our Home (Mapo Shelter),' a living space for former Japanese military comfort women who passed away on the 6th, will be held as a women's, human rights, and peace civic funeral. The chief mourner is Lee Na-young, the chairperson of Justice Memory Solidarity (Jeonguiyeon).
On the 8th, Justice Memory Solidarity and the bereaved family set up Son's funeral hall at the Severance Hospital funeral home in Sinchon, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul. The chief mourners were Lee Na-young, Chairperson of Justice Memory Solidarity, and Kim Young-soon, the executive representative of the Korean Women's Associations United. The funeral organizers planned to receive visitors from 3 p.m. that day. Son's funeral procession is scheduled for the 10th.
The co-funeral committee chairpersons will include Chairperson Lee, Korea Yeom, the operating chairperson of Justice Memory Solidarity, and Kim Eon-gyeong, the secretary general of the Citizens' Coalition for Democratic Media, representing civic organizations. Additionally, the funeral organizers are allowing citizens to register as funeral committee members online.
