Closed Changdeokgung Palace's Hidden Scenery, Now Available in Online Video
The Cultural Heritage Administration's Office of Palaces and Tombs announced on the 8th that Changdeokgung Palace, which is closed until the 14th due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), will be made available through online content. The video elegantly captures not only the serene rear garden of Changdeokgung but also usually closed areas such as the backyard of Nakseonjae. An official stated, "We are also providing four existing videos showcasing the four seasons of palaces, including Deoksugung Palace in winter and Changgyeonggung Palace throughout the year," adding, "We hope this will serve as a healing opportunity for citizens exhausted by the COVID-19 situation." The Office of Palaces and Tombs will also offer the booklet 'Gaboja Gung (宮),' which introduces the Four Great Palaces (Gyeongbokgung, Deoksugung, Changdeokgung, Changgyeonggung), Jongmyo Shrine, and Sajikdan Altar, as a PDF file starting from the 9th. Various contents incorporating virtual reality, augmented reality, and 5G technology will be produced to overcome accessibility and physical limitations.
