Gyeongju-si Donggungwon, 'Seasonal' Blueberry Picking Experience Event
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Dong-wook] Gyeongju City in Gyeongbuk announced on the 8th that it will hold a blueberry picking experience event at the theme experience park Donggungwon starting from the 12th.
Currently, Donggungwon is cultivating about 150 blueberry bushes, including Darrow, Bluecrop, Spartan, and Elliott, on an area of 230㎡. Donggungwon explained that the event was designed to allow visitors to participate directly during the optimal harvest period when the berries are most deliciously ripe. This event will continue until all the berries have fallen.
Unlike the previously held cherry picking event, the blueberries can be easily picked even from low branches, making it possible for children to participate in the experience activities. The event is held twice a day, in the morning and afternoon, and the participation fee is 6,000 won per person. Each participant is given 15 minutes for the experience.
After the picking experience, if the weight is measured to be exactly 200g, a 'God's Hand Special Event' offers a 50% discount on the participation fee.
Im Dong-joo, director of Donggungwon, said, "Although we are currently facing many difficulties due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), we hope people will create happy memories through the blueberry picking experience," expressing hope for many visitors.
