Woori Bank Joins Government Support Project for Elderly Job Public Service Participants
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyo-jin] Woori Bank announced on the 8th that it will support the Ministry of Health and Welfare's 'Senior Job Public Activity Participants Onnuri Gift Certificate Payment Project.'
The Ministry of Health and Welfare decided in March to provide consumption coupons to senior job public activity participants vulnerable to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), and is currently conducting this project by entrusting it to the Korea Senior Human Resources Development Institute.
Through this project, the government will provide Onnuri gift certificates equivalent to 22% of the activity fee for four months to those who apply for 30% of the monthly basic activity fee of 270,000 KRW in Onnuri gift certificates among senior job public activity participants. Applicants for the gift certificates will receive 329,000 KRW monthly (including 140,000 KRW in gift certificates).

Among the total 540,000 senior job public activity participants, about 270,000 applied for Onnuri gift certificates. Local government job performing agencies directly distribute the Onnuri gift certificates, and Woori Bank will dispatch branch employees to the relevant performing agencies from the 8th to support the gift certificate payment operations.
