Gangnam-gu Distributes 'Stick-on Thermometers' for Real-Time Fever Monitoring
A total of 240,000 items for 65 kindergartens and elementary schools and 198 daycare centers... Additional quarantine measures for care classrooms
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jeong Soon-gyun) will distribute a total of 240,000 'stick-on thermometers' to local daycare centers, kindergartens, and elementary schools by the end of this month to create a safe educational environment for children in line with the resumption of in-person classes.
These thermometers are sticker-type and can be easily attached to the forehead, under the ear, or neck. When the body temperature exceeds 37.5 degrees Celsius, the color changes, allowing easy detection of fever or other abnormal signs in young students who have difficulty expressing themselves.
The district will distribute 160,000 stick-on thermometers to 65 locations, including 34 kindergartens and 31 elementary schools, enough for students to use for 10 days, and 80,000 to 198 daycare centers for 20 days of use.
Additionally, extra disinfection will be conducted targeting daycare centers, kindergartens, and elementary school after-school care classrooms.
Previously, the district supported health safety for students by providing 695,000 dental masks, 56,900 hand sanitizers, and other disinfection supplies such as liquid soap and paper towels to daycare centers and schools of all levels.
