Trade Technical Barrier Response Strategy Paper Contest Held
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] A paper contest on overcoming overseas technical regulations after the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) will be held.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the National Institute of Technology and Standards announced on the 7th that they will hold the "5th Trade Technical Barrier (TBT·Technical Barrier to Trade) Paper Contest" together with the Korea Standards Association and the International Development Cooperation Society.
TBT refers to trade barriers that hinder the free movement of goods by applying different technical regulations, standards, certifications, etc. between countries.
The paper topics include policy, theory, case studies, statistical analysis, etc. with academic value related to TBT.
All university and graduate students nationwide are eligible to participate. Applications are accepted until the 24th of next month, and papers must be submitted by October 5.
A total of seven teams will be selected and awarded, including one grand prize team, two excellence award teams, and four merit award teams.

The grand prize-winning team will have the opportunity to observe the World Trade Organization Technical Barrier to Trade (WTO TBT) Committee meeting held in Geneva, Switzerland next year, gaining firsthand experience of actual trade situations.
