Medical IP, Superbin, and Testworks Featured in D.N.A Excellence Cases
[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Jo] The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 7th that it has selected three outstanding D.N.A (Data, Network, Artificial Intelligence (AI)) cases for May, including Medical IP, Superbin, and Testworks.
The Ministry of Science and ICT discovers excellent companies in the DNA field, which is the core of the 4th Industrial Revolution, and selects outstanding cases through recommendations and a review committee targeting related fields such as social enterprises, innovative companies, and growth companies to spread their achievements.
Medical IP developed software that can diagnose COVID-19 pneumonia lesions through AI training of medical imaging data and made it freely available on its website, receiving recognition for enhancing the status of domestic medical information and communication technology (ICT). Since its free release in March, it has been confirmed that the software has been downloaded and used by 1,109 institutions in 46 countries.
Superbin created social value by solving local environmental issues through resource circulation by sorting and collecting recyclable resources such as empty PET bottles and cans using its self-developed object recognition AI technology and applying a reward system.
Testworks received high marks for presenting a good job direction in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution by creating social jobs such as employing people with autism and women with career interruptions as inspection managers to secure essential datasets for AI advancement. As of May, among the total 84 employees, 20% (17) are disabled, 18% (15) are women with career interruptions, and 39% (33) are youth.
