Trump Mentions "Defeat Campaign" Against Ruling Party Senators Who Oppose Him
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Je-hoon] U.S. President Donald Trump retaliated by saying he would "launch a campaign to defeat" Senator Lisa Murkowski, who opposed him.
On the 4th (local time), President Trump tweeted, "Few people will know where they will be two years from now, but I do," adding, "I will be campaigning against Senator Murkowski in the great, beloved state of Alaska."
Earlier, Senator Murkowski had expressed hesitation about supporting President Trump in the November presidential election after former Defense Secretary James Mattis publicly criticized Trump's plan to deploy the military in response to the racial protests triggered by the George Floyd incident.
