"Kang Yong-seok Sent to Prosecution for Spreading False Information That Cho Kuk's Daughter Drives a Porsche"
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Yeonju Kim] Lawyer Kang Yong-seok and others who claimed that "the daughter of former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk drives a Porsche" have been sent to the prosecution on charges of spreading false information.
On the afternoon of the 5th, Shin Seung-mok, head of the Anti-Corruption People's Participation Solidarity, posted on his Facebook, stating, "(YouTube channel) Garosero Research Institute Kang Yong-seok, Kim Yong-ho, Kim Se-ui information and communication network law violation defamation accusation case sent to prosecution with indictment opinion."
Shin said, "The accused spread fake news and false information defamation through YouTube broadcasts that at the time, the children of Justice Minister nominee Cho Kuk were driving a red foreign car Porsche," adding, "Please be happy but refrain from abusive language as there is a high risk of lawsuits from Kang Yong-seok and others."
Earlier in August last year, Lawyer Kang and others uploaded a video titled "Summary of Cho Kuk Suspicion" through Garosero Research Institute. The video contained rumors spread on online communities such as "Cho's daughter drives a red Porsche" and "Cho's daughter ranked last in university."

In response, Cho's daughter, Jo, filed a complaint with the Cyber Investigation Unit of the National Police Agency against those who spread false information about her. The complaint targets are known to include the conservative-leaning YouTube channel "Garosero Research Institute" (Garosero), jointly operated by Lawyer Kang and former reporter Kim, as well as the community "82Cook," mainly used by housewives in their 40s and 50s.
