COVID-19 Case Confirmed at Hyundai Mobis Uiwang Research Center... Closed from 5th to 7th
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] A confirmed case of COVID-19 has occurred at Hyundai Mobis Uiwang Research Center. Hyundai Mobis will temporarily close the research center for three days from the 5th to the 7th.
According to industry sources on the 5th, one employee belonging to Hyundai Mobis Uiwang Research Center tested positive for COVID-19 the previous day. This employee was confirmed positive for COVID-19 at Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital the day before and informed the company of the confirmed case around 6 p.m.
The employee went to the research center on the 1st, worked from home on the 2nd and 4th, and went on a business trip to a partner company in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province on the 3rd.
Hyundai Mobis closed the Uiwang Research Center starting on the 5th and began disinfection. Currently, the Uiwang Research Center houses the R&D divisions of Hyundai Mobis as well as Hyundai Wia, Hyundai Rotem, and Hyundai AutoEver, all affiliates of Hyundai Motor Group. Accordingly, employees of the affiliated companies residing in this research center have also been instructed to work from home.
