Hydrogen Mobility+ Show Organizing Committee "Thorough COVID-19 Prevention System Established"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] The Hydrogen Mobility+ Show Organizing Committee (Chairman Manki Jeong, concurrently Chairman of the Korea Automobile Manufacturers Association, hereinafter referred to as the Organizing Committee) announced on the 5th that it will establish a thorough quarantine and prevention system to prevent the novel coronavirus infection (hereinafter COVID-19) for the upcoming “1st Hydrogen Mobility+ Show” opening on the 1st of next month.
Based on the government’s detailed guidelines for “social distancing in daily life” and group quarantine rules, the Organizing Committee will operate a watertight prevention system in close cooperation with KINTEX, where the event will be held. All disinfection within the exhibition hall will be managed by the response headquarters, which serves as the infection control tower during the event period, and medical personnel will be stationed on-site to strictly manage visitors.
First, entry to the exhibition hall will be based on a pre-registration system with identity verification as a principle. In cases where on-site registration is unavoidable, entry will be permitted only after individually verifying ID and contact information. Additionally, the number of entrances and exits to the exhibition hall will be minimized to eliminate blind spots in quarantine, and admission will proceed through a four-step process.
Visitors will move along designated lines marked on the floor at 2-meter intervals at the entrance, and entry will be allowed only after temperature measurement, use of hand sanitizer, and wearing disposable vinyl gloves. Temperature will be measured using thermal imaging cameras and facial recognition thermometers. If a high fever of 37.5°C or above is detected, a second measurement will be conducted with a non-contact thermometer before deciding on admission.
All visitors must wear masks, and those who have not prepared or have lost their masks will be provided with masks separately prepared by the Organizing Committee. Furthermore, quarantine personnel will be stationed inside the exhibition hall to continuously monitor mask-wearing even after entry.
A disinfection system to prevent infection will also operate inside the exhibition hall. To minimize individual movement and avoid overlapping routes among visitors, a one-way traffic flow will be enforced as a principle. Additionally, ventilation facilities will be operated once per hour to ensure smooth air circulation. Disinfectant solution will be sprayed once daily on floors and waiting rooms inside the exhibition hall, and twice daily on external restrooms, escalators, chairs, and smoking booths.
Moreover, for overseas speakers who are unable to attend the “International Conference” scheduled during the event period, a hybrid on- and offline event using a video speech system will be promoted. Business consultations between participating companies and buyers will be conducted safely with acrylic partitions installed separately, among other meticulous prevention measures.
An Organizing Committee official stated, “This event is held to create momentum to overcome the global economic downturn caused by COVID-19 through the hydrogen industry, which is the core of the future energy industry. Therefore, we will prepare the best quarantine measures for the safety of visitors and participants. However, since safety is the most important factor for the successful completion of the exhibition, we sincerely ask for understanding and active cooperation regarding the various procedures that may cause some inconvenience.”
