Black Yak Chairman Kang Tae-sun Appointed as Advisory Member of UN SDGs Association
[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Kang Tae-seon, chairman of BYN Blackyak, has been appointed as an advisory member of the UN SDGs Association, a special consultative status organization of the United Nations Economic and Social Council.
The UN SDGs Association is an international non-governmental organization that promotes the participation of global companies and national parliaments in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established by the UN in 2015 through various activities. It is known for publishing the global sustainability management index, the ‘UN Sustainable Development Goals Management Index,’ and the global eco-friendly guideline, the ‘GRP Certification.’
Chairman Kang emphasizes SDGs in all management activities and demonstrates leadership in sustainable management, recognized as one of the top leaders in South Korea. Starting with this appointment, he plans to present new directions for the domestic fashion industry and carry out various activities to enhance stakeholder awareness and increase participation.
In particular, BYN Blackyak was selected as the top company in the domestic best group of the ‘2019 UN Sustainable Development Goals Management Index’ announced by the UN SDGs Association last year.
Chairman Kang Tae-seon said, “As corporate economic and social innovation activities not only participate in solving the social problems we currently face but also become the source of sustainable competitiveness for companies, we will create Blackyak’s unique sustainable management model where SDGs and business coexist, and lead change through the influence companies possess.”
