Gyeongbuk Province Hits 19.4 Billion with 'Sale Festa' and Hosts 'Gyeongbuk Damda' Shopping Planning Exhibition
Sale Festa hosts 1,446 Gyeongbuk companies for a month
Evaluated for boosting SME sales and contributing to economic revitalization
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Gyeongsangbuk-do announced on the 5th that the 'Gyeongbuk Sale Festa' held on Coupang, Wemakeprice, Tmon, Post Office Shopping, and Gongyoung Shopping achieved a total sales amount of 19.4 billion KRW in one month.
A total of 1,446 Gyeongbuk companies participated in this event, enhancing the brand awareness of excellent Gyeongbuk companies and leading to increased sales for small and medium-sized enterprises, thereby contributing to economic revitalization through consumption promotion.
In March, when Gyeongsangbuk-do prepared a supplementary budget to overcome the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), it planned the 'Excellent Products Online Store Support Project' as part of a non-face-to-face business. After one month of preparation, it opened the sale exhibition on May 1st, the first among local governments nationwide. To convert offline sales to online, special promotional videos were produced, and active promotion was conducted targeting the younger generation, the main customers of online shopping, through YouTube, KakaoTalk, Mom Cafes, Instagram, and more.
Based on the success of the 'Gyeongbuk Sale Festa,' Gyeongsangbuk-do will continue the exhibition from June under the theme 'Embracing Gyeongbuk.' While the 'Gyeongbuk Sale Festa' expressed gratitude to the public who supported Daegu and Gyeongbuk in overcoming COVID-19, 'Embracing Gyeongbuk' plans to include all products produced in the region seasonally, according to Gyeongsangbuk-do.
The sub-theme of this event, 'Embracing Gyeongbuk Outing,' includes filter-type replaceable summer masks, portable batteries, rayon clothing, wet wipes, liquid detergent, and more. 'Embracing Gyeongbuk’s Health' plans to include sports and leisure goods, as well as red ginseng and black garlic.
