Daily Blockchain Expands Smart City Business... Government's "Green New Deal" in Focus
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Daily Blockchain announced on the 3rd that it is expanding its smart city business division and undergoing a structural reform focused on new growth businesses. The strategy is to concentrate on securing advanced SOC projects that are opening up in line with the government's 'Green New Deal' policy direction.
Daily Blockchain recently conducted a major organizational restructuring to focus on new smart city businesses by newly establishing four organizations: ▲ Business Management ▲ Technology Management ▲ Incubating Group ▲ Execution Headquarters, and separately forming three new business TF teams. In addition, the Technology Research Institute and Technology Management Team will be separated to focus on discovering advanced technologies aimed at matching national projects, while also pursuing the acquisition of intellectual property rights such as patents.
The company expects that, since past successful project experience is the most important factor in public institution projects, its extensive experience in smart city-related projects?the largest in Korea?will serve as a differentiated competitive advantage.
Daily Blockchain has focused on fostering advanced ICT technologies considered core to the 4th industrial revolution, including artificial intelligence (AI), big data, blockchain, and IoT. The cumulative order amount over the past three years for more than 300 related projects, such as ▲ urban transportation ▲ maritime control systems ▲ U-city infrastructure construction, which incorporated Daily Blockchain's advanced ICT technology, amounts to approximately 478 billion KRW. In particular, the order scale for future-oriented 'smart cities' built by integrating advanced IT infrastructure and ubiquitous services in Incheon Yeongjong District, Songdo, and Namyangju since 2013 exceeds 40 billion KRW.
Jo Youngjoong, CEO of Daily Blockchain, said, “Since the government has recently confirmed an unprecedented budget investment of 76 trillion KRW over the next five years for the Korean New Deal, many opportunities will be given to 4th industrial revolution technology companies. In the case of Daily Blockchain, which has long researched and developed advanced ICT technologies across various fields, positive discussions are currently underway on various SOC projects based on successful references from previous public institution smart city construction projects.”
