Fire at Hampyeong Nursing Home... Early Extinguishing with Fire Extinguisher Prevents Major Damage
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] A fire broke out at a nursing home in Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do, around 11 p.m. on the 1st.
As soon as the fire started, an official used a fire extinguisher to successfully suppress it in the early stage, preventing major damage.
The fire was determined to have been caused by an electrical factor (short circuit due to compression or damage) in a condenser attached to the exterior wall of a low-temperature storage facility installed outside the nursing home.
If the initial suppression had failed, the flames could have spread widely by traveling along the wires, but the fire extinguisher nearby played a significant role.
