[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Gominhyeong] Jeonju City has decided to transform the aging and declining street environment of Palbok-dong into a vibrant street where culture and art breathe life.
The city announced on the 2nd that it plans to improve the street environment of Palbok-dong 1st Industrial Complex by 2022, after being selected for the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's '2020 Vibrant and Beautiful Street Creation Project' contest.
This project is being promoted to revitalize the area and resolve the environmental dissonance with the city by improving the infrastructure and environment of the aging industrial complex.
Following the selection for this contest project, the city plans to carry out four detailed projects under the theme 'Palbok Dreaming Street': ▲ Workers' Rest Area ▲ Youth Sketchbook ▲ Youth Plaza ▲ Palbok Art Bridge.
In this regard, last year, Palbok-dong 1st Industrial Complex was selected in the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's 'Industrial Complex Complex Cultural Center Construction Project' contest, and a complex cultural center with concentrated welfare convenience facilities will also be established.
The city expects that by creating a vibrant and beautiful street in Palbok-dong 1st Industrial Complex and establishing the complex cultural center, and linking it with surrounding projects such as the railway landmark project, Geumhakcheon Stream maintenance project, Happy Housing construction, tourist hotel construction, and Palbok Art Factory, the area will be transformed into a space frequently visited by youth and travelers.
