Korea Airports Corporation Provides Free Retraining Program for Graduates of the 'Jet Transition Process'
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Je-hoon] Korea Airports Corporation announced on the 2nd that it provided a free "Jet Transition Course Refresh Special Course" for 40 graduates of the KAC jet transition course from the 25th to the 29th of last month.
Korea Airports Corporation has promoted this training to offer essential flight hour maintenance opportunities for prospective pilots who obtained their pilot certifications during the COVID-19 pandemic but are still preparing for employment due to the global aviation industry downturn.
The trainees participating in this refresher course were graduates of the Korea Airports Corporation Aviation Training Center. They underwent intensive simulator training to improve flight skills along with academic education such as air traffic control. Additionally, they attended lectures on the latest airline employment trends and had individual counseling sessions.
Son Chang-wan, President of Korea Airports Corporation, said, "It is regrettable that trainees who completed the jet transition course possess excellent skills but have not been able to pass through the employment gate due to real-world challenges." He added, "We will continue to implement ongoing follow-up programs and fulfill our social responsibilities as a public enterprise."
