Geumcheon Cultural Foundation Operates Artist (Group) Archive 'Geumcheon Art Library' Project... From June to November, Surveying Artists (Groups) in Music, Media, Literature, Design, Performance, etc.... Providing Stable Activity Base in the Region through Foundation Project Linkage
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon Cultural Foundation (CEO Lee Yong-jin) will pilot the 'Geumcheon Art Library' project from June to November to discover professional artists (groups) active based in the region.
The 'Geumcheon Art Library' project aims to discover talented artists in the region to revitalize local culture. Through the 'Geumcheon Art Library,' the foundation plans to continuously expand the district's cultural capabilities by linking discovered artists (groups) with various cultural projects such as performances and exhibitions.
This year, the foundation plans to conduct an artist (group) status survey twice. Phase 1 will take place from June to August, and Phase 2 from September to November.
The foundation plans to discover and support talented artists in various fields this year, including ▲visual arts ▲performing arts ▲music ▲media (film and video, digital media, photography, etc.) ▲design △other art fields (multidisciplinary arts, popular arts, etc.) ▲artists with career interruptions ▲literature (humanities) ▲and emerging artists.
The common eligibility criterion is that applicants must be 'professional artists.' Detailed information related to each subfield can be found on the Geumcheon Cultural Foundation website.
Artists wishing to participate can download the survey form from the notices section on the foundation's website, fill it out, and then either visit the foundation office on the basement level 1 of Geumnarae Art Hall in person with the required documents or submit them via email (gcnewdeal2020@naver.com).
The foundation will review the suitability and register artists (groups) who meet the criteria in the artist database (DB), providing a stable activity base by linking them to related projects.
Geumcheon Cultural Foundation plans to build an artist (group) information DB through a website revamp next year, establishing a system to continuously discover artists (groups) in the region and match them with cultural projects.
