The Pacific War Bereaved Families Association: "Yoon Mi-hyang, who exploited the comfort women issue for 30 years, must resign"
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] The Pacific War Victims' Families Association (hereinafter referred to as the Families Association), a group representing the bereaved families of victims of forced labor and comfort women during Japanese colonial rule, held an emergency press conference on the 1st condemning Justice Party Solidarity and Democratic Party lawmaker Yoon Mi-hyang, urging the dissolution of Justice Party Solidarity and Yoon's resignation from the National Assembly.
The Families Association held a press conference at 2 p.m. at Alps Restaurant in Seonwon-myeon, Ganghwa-gun, Incheon, stating, "Yoon Mi-hyang, who has exploited the comfort women issue for the past 30 years, should resign from her position as a lawmaker and Justice Party Solidarity should be disbanded."
The Families Association criticized, "Jeong Dae-hyeop (Korean Council for the Women Drafted for Military Sexual Slavery by Japan) and Yoon Mi-hyang have fattened themselves as a power group rather than a victim-centered organization for the Japanese military comfort women grandmothers for decades."
Yang Soon-im, president of the Families Association, said, "Jeong Dae-hyeop ignored the last wish of the late grandmother Kang Soon-ae, who asked to be buried in Manghyang Hill after death," adding, "Grandmother Kang was eventually interred in a columbarium."
She also said, "The comfort women grandmothers were afraid of Jeong Dae-hyeop and Yoon Mi-hyang during their lifetime," and "The government should no longer send subsidies to this organization."
At the press conference, President Yang and two bereaved family members of comfort women victims attended.
