Changwon City to Reopen Daycare Centers Starting from the 1st
Continuing Multifaceted Efforts to Create a Safe Environment in Daycare Centers
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] Changwon City announced on the 1st that it will lift the daycare center closure order, which began on February 24 in response to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), starting from the 1st.
The lifting applies to 833 daycare centers, with 23,998 children enrolled.
This decision was made considering that there have been no confirmed COVID-19 cases since April 21, the continuous increase in the use rate of emergency childcare services at daycare centers, and the fact that on-site inspections confirmed that daycare centers are sufficiently complying with quarantine guidelines.
The city has strengthened the basic quarantine guidelines within daycare centers upon reopening, conducted self-disinfection of school buses and facilities before reopening, and is making every effort by providing response guidelines suitable for the reopening situation.
The city also invested an emergency budget of 206 million KRW to supply quarantine items such as hand sanitizers, masks, and non-contact thermometers to daycare centers.
