Jongno-gu 'Health Walking Club' Recruiting New Members
Supporting residents exhausted mentally and physically from prolonged COVID-19 to regain vitality and communicate with neighbors by enjoying walking exercise... Any Jongno-gu resident can submit an application through the district office website
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Jongno-gu (District Mayor Kim Young-jong) will begin recruiting members for the 'Health Walking Club' starting from the 1st.
‘Walking exercise’ is considered a safe aerobic exercise that can be done without any special equipment or financial investment. It is easy for anyone to participate, from beginners to the elderly and pregnant women, and it not only strengthens leg muscles but also helps prevent adult diseases.
Currently, a total of 14 health walking clubs are actively holding walking meetings at least once a week in each community center and public health center within the district.
Through this new member recruitment, Jongno-gu aims to help residents, who are mentally and physically exhausted due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, regain vitality by enjoying walking exercise and pursue a happy and vibrant life by communicating with neighbors.
Anyone residing in Jongno-gu can apply by submitting a club membership application form through the district office website. Once a member, they will be given priority to participate in various health-related programs such as walking education and health forums.
For more detailed information regarding recruitment, please refer to the district office website or contact each community service center or the Health Promotion Division and Healthy City Division at the public health center by phone.
Jongno-gu is promoting various related projects to create conditions where residents can exercise anytime and anywhere on their own, including ▲dissemination of health gymnastics ▲discovery and maintenance of ‘walking-friendly paths,’ and also operates the ‘Making Jongno an Active Exercise Community’ website.
By accessing the above website, you can learn more about local exercise facilities and programs such as community centers and district-run sports facilities.
Additionally, online users can obtain information on each course of Jongno’s healthy walking trails, such as Inwangsan Forest Trail and Samcheong Park Circular Trail, including route, duration, difficulty, and calories burned, and enjoy finding a walking course that suits them.
