Brazil's COVID-19 Death Toll Exceeds 1,000 for 4 Consecutive Days
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Haeyoung] In Brazil, the number of deaths due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) has exceeded 1,000 per day for the fourth consecutive day.
According to the Brazilian Ministry of Health on the 29th (local time), the number of deaths from COVID-19 increased by 1,124 from the previous day, reaching a total of 27,878.
Based on data compiled by Johns Hopkins University in the United States, Brazil's cumulative death toll surpassed Spain (27,121) and ranked 5th in the world after the United States, the United Kingdom, Italy, and France.
The daily death toll has exceeded 1,000 for four consecutive days since the 26th. The number of confirmed cases increased by 26,928 from the previous day, reaching 465,166. The increase in new confirmed cases broke the previous day's record (26,417).
