Jeonju City-Korea Tourism Organization, Collaborate to Develop Tourism Hub City... 'Joining Hands'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Gominhyung] Jeonju City has decided to join hands with the Korea Tourism Organization to actively promote the Tourism Hub City Development Project.
On the 27th, the city held a business agreement ceremony with the Korea Tourism Organization at Andong City Hall to successfully promote the Tourism Hub City Development Project.
At the agreement ceremony, the Korea Tourism Organization agreed to mutually cooperate with Jeonju City and four other tourism hub cities to achieve the common goal of revitalizing tourism hub cities.
Specifically, the Korea Tourism Organization will assist Jeonju City in building a brand utilizing its cultural resources and support raising awareness through overseas marketing to attract foreign tourists.
Additionally, Jeonju City and the Korea Tourism Organization will continue to collaborate on linked projects.
A representative of the Korea Tourism Organization stated, “In the first year of the Tourism Hub City Development Project, we plan to strengthen cooperation between the organization and local governments to increase awareness of the project and attract foreign tourists. By sharing experiences and capabilities among the five cities selected as tourism hub cities, we will actively support their growth into world-class global tourism hub cities.”

Choi Rakgi, Director of Culture, Tourism, and Sports Bureau of Jeonju City, said, “Being selected as a tourism hub city is the first step in preserving and nurturing Jeonju’s unique identity, blossoming through culture and bearing fruit through tourism. Using this agreement as a starting point, we plan to actively promote the Tourism Hub City Development Project and aggressively conduct overseas promotional marketing in line with the post-COVID-19 tourism trends together with the Korea Tourism Organization.”
