Seongdong-gu Public Health Center Introduces Digital X-ray and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Analysis System
Easy X-ray Imaging for Wheelchair Users, Foreign Language Support Added... Real-Time Disease Analysis Also Available
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jung Won-oh) Public Health Center is showcasing advanced health care services by introducing the latest medical equipment such as ‘digital X-ray’ and ‘artificial intelligence (AI) medical imaging analysis system.’
The latest medical device, the ‘digital X-ray,’ allows free positioning and shooting via a wireless remote control, and supports nine foreign languages, making it convenient for foreigners visiting the health center to undergo X-ray imaging.
Equipped with 12 safety sensors attached to the device, it immediately detects dangerous situations and stops operation to prevent safety accidents effectively.
Additionally, individuals with mobility difficulties who use wheelchairs can now be X-rayed while seated in their wheelchair using the wireless remote control, resolving the previous inconvenience of having to forcibly stand up for imaging.
The ‘artificial intelligence (AI) medical imaging analysis system’ analyzes chest X-ray images within seconds after shooting, detecting suspicious abnormal lesions and their locations related to lung diseases with over 90% accuracy. The information is then transmitted via the real-time Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) to produce analysis results.
The lung diseases that can be analyzed include tuberculosis, pneumonia, pneumothorax, and lung nodules. By directly marking the diseases on the chest images, it assists doctors in reading and diagnosing, thereby improving work efficiency.
An official from the district stated, “This medical imaging analysis system, enhanced with AI technology, shortens diagnosis time through rapid image analysis and reading, and is expected to aid in the early detection and treatment of various lung diseases.” He added, “We plan to utilize the system for analyzing and diagnosing more lung diseases through future program upgrades.”
Jung Won-oh, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, said, “With the introduction of this latest medical equipment, we can now provide high-quality health care services to wheelchair users and foreigners who previously faced difficulties using the health center.” He added, “We will continue to enhance the health center’s disease prevention functions and do our best to provide the highest level of public medical services to all residents.”
