Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon Introduces 'KS-Quarantine' to Stanford University Scholars
Online Meeting with Over 30 Night-Hennessy Scholars on the 28th
Presentation of 'Seoul Vision' for COVID-19 Experience and Post-Corona Era
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] On the 28th, Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon held an online video meeting with Knight-Hennessy Scholars who are pursuing master's and doctoral degrees at the world-renowned Stanford University, sharing South Korea and Seoul's know-how in preventing the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
About 30 Knight-Hennessy Scholars, composed of students from various majors such as medicine, public health, law, and business, and from diverse nationalities, are scheduled to engage in thematic discussions and Q&A sessions with Mayor Park.
Mayor Park will deliver a message titled "Seoul's Experience with COVID-19 and Seoul's Vision for the Post-COVID Era," introducing various innovations and efforts Seoul has undertaken during the COVID-19 response process. He will also present "innovation and solidarity" as the key keywords of Seoul's COVID-19 response, explaining innovative testing methods such as drive-through and walk-through, as well as social distancing measures that succeeded based on mature civic awareness.
As three strategies for Seoul to leap forward as a global standard city in the post-COVID era, he will propose ▲ Seoul as a standard city of a 'new quarantine model' ▲ Seoul as a standard city 'addressing social inequality' ▲ Seoul as a standard city of 'international solidarity.'
This video meeting was arranged at the request of the Stanford Knight-Hennessy Scholarship Program Foundation, which wanted to hear about Seoul's COVID-19 response experience and know-how, maintaining metropolitan functions while keeping the number of deaths close to zero, unlike the United States, where a large number of deaths occurred.
Previously, Mayor Park shared Seoul's COVID-19 response experience through video conferences with the Vice President of Colombia, and the mayors of Istanbul and Athens. The online platform CAC (Cities Against COVID-19), established to share Seoul's quarantine policies and know-how upon requests from international organizations and overseas cities, has now surpassed 6 million views.

As the world is paying attention to K-quarantine, Seoul will share that know-how globally and secure a global initiative for solidarity among cities."
