Jeonnam Province Signs Agreement to Support Low-Income Children Worth 5.2 Billion Won
Aekyung Industrial Co., Ltd. Promises 5 Billion KRW and Hope Sharing People Association 180 Million KRW Support
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Province (Governor Kim Young-rok), Aekyung Industrial Co., Ltd., and the Association for Sharing Hope have joined hands to support low-income children.
Jeonnam Province announced on the 27th that it has signed an agreement with these two organizations to support low-income children in the Jeonnam region worth approximately 5.2 billion KRW.
The event held at the Jeonnam Provincial Office was attended by Governor Kim Young-rok, Aekyung Industrial Executive Director Choi Yong-hee, Chairman Kim Jeong-an of the Association for Sharing Hope, and heads of child welfare organizations in the Jeonnam region.
Aekyung Industrial, which has continuously engaged in social contribution activities such as briquette delivery, meal services for the elderly, and kimchi sharing, will support daily necessities worth 5 billion KRW (about 1 billion KRW annually for five years) through this agreement. The province plans to distribute these to children and facilities in need within the province.
The Association for Sharing Hope will donate a total of 180 million KRW over five years, providing 20,000 KRW monthly to 150 low-income children’s Didim Seed Savings Accounts, playing a significant role in laying the foundation for these children to grow into prepared members of society.
Choi Yong-hee, Executive Director of Aekyung Industrial, said, “I feel very honored to be able to help improve the lives of children in need,” and added, “We will continue to carry out ongoing social contribution activities and practice warm companionship.”
Governor Kim Young-rok of Jeonnam Province said, “I am pleased that children, who are our future and the driving force of the Blue Economy, can live better lives through donated goods and asset formation,” and stated, “We will continue to discover welfare blind spots through various private supports and make meticulous efforts to assist the lives of vulnerable groups by linking with various companies and institutions.”

Meanwhile, Jeonnam Province plans to recommend low-income families and children in child welfare facilities as recipients of daily necessities support to Aekyung Industrial, and select 150 eligible children among those enrolled in the Didim Seed Savings Account to be supported by the Association for Sharing Hope.
