[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] The Korea International Trade Association announced on the 28th that it held the ‘Korea-Vietnam Online Export Consultation Meeting.’
This event was conducted in a three-way remote consultation format involving 10 domestic local companies handling cosmetics, baby products, processed foods, and health supplements, 23 Vietnamese buyers, and interpreters. Domestic companies and buyers participated from their respective offices, while the association’s category-specific matching managers and interpreters connected to the consultation venue set up at COEX via video conferencing systems such as Zoom and Skype to conduct the consultations.
A representative from the KITA Ho Chi Minh branch stated, “Vietnam has been recognized as an excellent country in quarantine response, having reported no community infections for six consecutive weeks since April 16,” adding, “With the atmosphere of ending the pandemic and the active resumption of economic activities, the local market is also showing signs of rapid recovery.”
A representative from Goldstar, a Vietnamese Korean food specialist vendor who participated in the consultation, praised the event, saying, “In a situation where trade and meetings between countries are difficult due to COVID-19, it was a great opportunity to meet suppliers of high-quality Korean products.”
