Muan Fire Station Begins Special Security Duty for Buddha's Birthday
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Jeonnam Muan Fire Station (Chief Park Won-guk) announced on the 27th that it will begin special fire watch duty in preparation for the Buddha's Birthday celebration event from the 29th of this month to the 1st of next month.
Over the past five years, there have been 16 temple fires in Jeonnam. Fortunately, there were no casualties, but there was significant property damage. The causes were electrical factors at 31.2% and negligence at 25%.
As the Buddha's Birthday celebration, postponed due to COVID-19, will be held on the 30th, it is expected that many citizens who had refrained from visiting temples will participate. Therefore, the fire station plans to establish a fire response posture by having all staff and volunteer firefighters conduct three mobile patrols daily at temples and deploy fire trucks in advance at major temples.
