Dong-A Hwasung "Mass Production of Battery Pack Gaskets for Hyundai·Kia New Electric Vehicle Platform"
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Dong-A Hwasung announced on the 27th that it will mass-produce battery pack module gaskets applied to the electric vehicle dedicated platform being developed by Hyundai-Kia Motors Company (HKMC) starting this year.
For battery pack module gaskets, domestic supply is handled by Dong-A Hwasung's headquarters, while its subsidiary DONG-A HWA SUNG TECHNOLOGY (WUXI) CO., LTD supplies to China.
Dong-A Hwasung is currently developing battery pack gaskets for electric vehicles and supplying them to Hyundai-Kia Motors' Kona, Niro, Soul, Ioniq, Porter, and Bongo trucks, as well as supplying the Bolt electric vehicle produced at GM's North American plant. Additionally, its subsidiary DONG-A HWA SUNG TECHNOLOGY (WUXI) CO., LTD supplies battery pack gaskets for electric vehicles to China FAW, Great Wall Motors, and Shanghai GM.

In particular, Dong-A Hwasung has secured an order for battery pack module gaskets for the electric vehicle dedicated platform (E-GMP) currently under development by Hyundai-Kia Motors Company (HKMC). Mass production development is underway, with production scheduled to begin in December. A company official stated, "The battery pack module gaskets for electric vehicles produced by Hyundai-Kia Motors are 100% Dong-A Hwasung products," adding, "Based on the ordered volume, sales of electric vehicle battery pack module gaskets are expected to increase to 8 billion KRW this year, 13 billion KRW next year, and surpass 22 billion KRW in 2022."
