Netflix experiences 1-hour outage on the night of the 25th... "Cause under investigation"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] A global online video service (OTT) Netflix experienced access disruptions on the 25th.
According to the related industry on the 26th, from around 10 PM the previous day, some Netflix users experienced delays in accessing the service for about an hour. On the mobile or television screens of affected users, a black screen with white text appeared, displaying the message "Cannot connect to Netflix."
Netflix stated, "Some members experienced difficulties using Netflix last night," and added, "The issue has now been resolved, and the service is operating normally."
Netflix had previously experienced access errors in the US and Northern Europe in March, but such incidents are said to be rare domestically. Among netizens, there was speculation that the traffic surge caused by Netflix releasing 'Seolguk-yeolcha' (Snowpiercer) the previous day might have caused the access errors. Netflix released the drama of the same name, a remake of director Bong Joon-ho's film 'Seolguk-yeolcha,' in Korea the day before.
